Ford Pinto phaenton

Ahhhhh the blessed Ford Pinto.... A failed attempt to build a compact car by Ford USA in the 70's. It wasn't that they were bad cars, they just had a tendancy to ...explode... when hit from behind

There was a Pinto wagon, but not a van (sedan delivery) like this one, so this is a phaenton - a body style not offered by the factory.

I used this [link] as a base as I wanted to try some real-fire styled flames and I'm easing back into cars after a break.

This car is a bit of a mix in styles, the red steel wheels, black with flames paint and pinstriping lean towards a old-school look, but the late model mirrors, door handles and the realistic(ish) flames go the other.way

Those flames didn't turn out as bright as I hoped... Does anyone know of a method that works?
